Samuel Voo
Lead Pastor
Samuel serves as the Lead Pastor at Granville Chapel, providing vision, leadership, and teaching to the church and staff. He is passionate about equipping and empowering the church to serve Jesus in the world, especially in the ministry of the word.
Sam is married to Grace, and together they have three children, Joshua (18), Daniel (14), and Rachel (12). Sam enjoys spending time with his family, whether walking in the forest, watching TV, or driving his kids to their various activities. His favourite hobbies include sports, especially badminton, hockey, and volleyball.
In terms of food, he relishes most of all his wife's home-cooked meals, along with a well-made salad! When dining out for special occasions, he especially enjoys Malaysian, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisines!
Susan Robertson
Children’s, Women’s & ESL Ministry
Susan coordinates our Children’s ministry, which includes KingdomKids (Preschool to Grade 5) and the Nursery (ages 0 - 3). She also leads Women's Ministry, directs the English Plus program, is part of the monthly Community Meal core team, and helps coordinate the Pastoral Care Team.
Susan thoroughly enjoys bike riding with her husband Terry, improving her pickleball game, having a group over for backyard bbq (with Terry as the bbq pro), visiting far away places and friends, and enjoying family time (which sometimes includes a tennis match!) with her 3 adult children. With regard to cuisine, she enjoys food from around the world, and to top it all off, one of her favorite ice cream joints is Rain or Shine in Kits.
Max Janssen
Youth Pastor
Max has just recently stepped in as Granville’s Youth Pastor after a few years of serving in various capacities. His hope in this role is to see teenagers experience the love of God and grab on to the fullness of life that comes with being a follower of Jesus.
One of Max’s greatest joys is experiencing life hand in hand with His wife Kiara, playing any sport; especially soccer, writing poetry, singing, skiing, hiking, camping, and anything where he can just take in the beautiful outdoors. He finds great joy in striking up conversation with strangers and also a simple cup of coffee within the presence of a friend.
Max’s enjoys eating Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Indian and Jamaican cuisine. Ask him about the Chickpea restaurant in Vancouver!
Leidy Calderón de Vila
Executive Administrator
Leidy provides administrative support in the office and feels very passionate about serving in this dynamic position!
She enjoys singing, dancing and cooking. After moving from the Dominican Republic, her new hobbies are playing boardgames with friends and going camping with her husband, Jonatán and her boys Mateo & Santiago.
When it comes to food, Leidy really likes drinking a good coffee and she is a cheese lover. Naming a favourite food is a hard thing to do, but she is truly delighted with Vancouver’s Sushi.
Jonatán Vila
Media Assistant
Jonatán is in charge of producing, editing and animating the audiovisuals shown at church: from Sunday morning services to interviews.
Jona enjoys going hiking, playing with his sons and dancing with his wife. His favourite restaurant is Wally's on East 49th and Elliot.
Sharon Wang
Bookkeeper & Admin Assistant
Known at Granville Chapel as "the-mother-of-three-girls", Sharon is in the office assisting Leidy with bookkeeping and any number related tasks.
With a previous background in the hospitality industry, Sharon not only enjoys dealing with numbers but also loves making new friends and having a great time with fellow Christians.
Growing up in Asia and Vancouver, Sharon enjoyed all sorts of cuisines, but enjoyed Cantoneses, Japanese and Korean the most.
Jason Leong
Community Life Pastor
Jason is a community life pastor who has a passion for helping people grow in their faith and is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and loved.
Some of Jason's interests include camping, gardening, and exploring the great outdoors. He believes that spending time in nature is a great way to connect with God and find refreshment. And if he can harvest some veggies while he’s at it, even better!
Jason is married to Connie and has 3 school age kids. He accidentally finds ways to embarrass them in public and is still working on refining his dad jokes, but they love him anyway. He’s excited to "doing life together" and sharing his love for sushi and fish tacos with everyone.
Jas Ngan
Worship Coordinator
Jas serves as the Worship Coordinator at Granville Chapel, developing our worship ministry, supporting adult and youth worship teams, and coordinating all aspects of worship art, from audio to worship events. She has a dream from God to bring people from all nations to worship before Him, becoming ONE in the kingdom of God.
Jas is a folk singer-songwriter, recording artist, jazz vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, vocal coach and improvisational contemporary dancer - she loves all things artistic! She is always fascinated by the beauty God has placed in the littlest things in nature, as well as His ultimate creativity. She is especially passionate about merging art and ministry.
Jas also loves books, poetry, theatre, boardgames and people! In terms of food, she is a big eater and always has another stomach for desserts!
