KingdomKids Sundays
Granville Chapel’s Sunday Morning Children’s Program
Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
What is KingdomKids?
It’s a Sunday morning program for children in Preschool through Grade 5. It is an upbeat, Bible-based morning that helps kids build a foundational relationship with our awesome God and His son Jesus Christ.
Children begin the morning with their families at 10 am in the main sanctuary. Worshipping God together as a family is important. Part way through the service, all children and youth are prayed for, and children in Preschool through Grade 5 are invited to go up to the KingdomKids program.
Mighty KingdomKids: Grades 1 through 5
KingdomKids uses the BIBLE for its curriculum!
Join us for an upbeat morning Bible-teaching, singing, games, activities and crafts!
Dedicated, responsible adults and youth lead the children through a morning focused on growing deeper in their relationship with Jesus and in their friendships with each other.
During our Large group time, we welcome the children, sing, play a game and introduce and teach the Bible passage and main point for the day. During Small Group time, children have a chance through discussions, crafts, and other activities to think further and learn more about the Bible Passage and main point of the day. Through this important time in their week, they have an opportunity to discuss, ask questions, and grow closer to Jesus. They also have an opportunity to get to know their Small Group Leader and other children in a more meaningful way.
This year, we are trying something new with KingdomKids – in addition to our regular Large Group/Small Group format, we will also have special mornings:
1. Stories of Faith and Hope
Once a month, we will invite adults into our morning session to talk about their own personal journeys with their Lord. Some of these will be missionaries, some will be “ordinary folk” who have a story to tell. Through this, our hope is that children will connect Bible truths with real live people who go to church with them!
2. Service Sundays
Once a month, we will work on a small service project that will help others in need. Through our connections with Union Gospel Mission, Gather and Give, missions organizations, and other charitable groups, we will make a craft or do something helpful for those less fortunate than ourselves.
Mini KingdomKids: Preschool and Kindergarten
Come upstairs with your friends and learn about the Bible and Jesus in our friendly Sunday morning program! Kindergartners and Preschoolers start out in a Large Group where they are welcomed and sing together. Then kids are invited into age-appropriate small groups where, through multi-sensory activities, they learn about our awesome God, His son Jesus Christ, and His Word the BIBLE.
Making A Difference
Adults and youth who take time to be involved with children have a lifelong impact on children’s lives and are critical to children’s spiritual and social development. If you would like to have an ETERNAL impact on young lives, please join our team and watch these Kingdom Kids GROW! What’s your FAITH story? Come tell the kids your story at our monthly “Stories of Faith and Hope” morning. Contact Susan Robertson at susanrobertson@granvillechapel.com for more information
Nursery (children ages 0 to 3)
Welcome to our Nursery! Caring and responsible adults and youth care for your babies and toddlers while you participate in the Sunday morning service. Parents are welcome to leave their children in the Nursery for the whole service, starting at 9:45 am. Sometimes our little ones just don’t want to let us go! If parents wish to stay with their babies, they are welcome to do so. We have live video of the worship service (and fresh hot coffee!) for you if you are not able to sit in the main sanctuary. As well, all sermons are available on our website www.granvillechapel.com in mp3 format.
Other KingdomKids Activities
From time to time we will have additional activites for children or children and their parents. Bible and Games afternoons, Talent Shows, Pizza Lunches, and Service Projects are just some of our ideas. VBS during the month of July promises to be a great week of fun, activity, and learning about God!
